This site is a work in progress and more tests will be added. In order to cover all the material for the driver license knowledge test, it is best to go over all the practice tests because each one covers different subjects. The questions and subjects of the tests follow the DMV “California Driver Handbook”.

Test No. 3 : Traffic Controls, Traffic Signal Lights, Pedestrian Signal Lights, Traffic Signs, Laws And Rules of the Road, Right-of-Way-Rules, Red and White Regulatory Signs, White Regulatory Signs, Highway Construction and Maintenance Signs, Guide Signs, Warning Signs.
Test No. 4 : Warning signs, Crosswalks.
Test No. 5 : Traffic Warning Signs, Crosswalks, Intersections, Roundabouts, On Mountain Roads, Speed Limits.
Test No. 6 : Speed Limits, Maximum Speed Limit, In Bad Weather and Heavy Traffic, Speed Limits for Buses, Heavy Vehicles and Towing Vehicles, Speed Limits Around Children, Speed Limits at Blind Intersections and Alleys, At Railroad Track Crossings, Pedestrian Safety Zones.
Test No. 7 : Near Buses, Streetcars and Trolleys, Residential and Business Area Speed Limit, Near animals, Visual Search, Scanning. Know What Is Ahead, Know What is At Your Side, Know What is Behind You, How well can you stop? Lane Markings, Two Solid Double Yellow Lines, Broken Yellow Lines, Two Sets of Double Yellow Lines Spaced 2 Feet or More Apart.
Test No. 8 : Traffic Lane Markings, White Solid and Broken Lines, Choosing a Lane, Changing from one lane to another, Passing vehicles, Carpool Lanes, HOV Lanes, Center left turn lane, Turnout area and passing lanes, Road Markings for End-Of-Lane, Yield Lines, Sharrows or Shared Road Bicycle Markings, Bicycle Lanes, Left turns.
Test No. 9 : Left Turns, Bus Lanes, Right Turns, U-Turns, Parking on a Hill, Parallel Parking, Parking at White, Yellow, Green, Red and Blue Curbs.
Test No. 10 : Handicapped Parking, Illegal Parking, Parking Rules, Safe Driving Practices, Signalling, Methods of Steering, Using the car horn.
Test No. 11 : Using your Headlights, Using your Emergency Signals (Flashers, Triangle, Flares), Text Messaging and Cell Phones, Following Distance, Merging In And Out Of Traffic, Space to Merge, Space to Cross or Enter Traffic From a Full Stop, Space to Exit a Freeway, Passing Vehicles.
Test No. 12 : Passing vehicles, Sharing the road with Big Rigs, Recreational Vehicles, Buses, Trolleys, Streetcars and Emergency Vehicles.
Test No. 13 : Sharing the road with emergency vehicles, Slow moving vehicles, Neighborhood Electric Vehicles, Low Speed Vehicles, Motorcycles, Bicycles, Pedestrians Who are Blind, Road Workers and Work Zones (Cone Zones), Double Fine Zones.
Test No. 14 : Approaching a stopped emergency vehicle, tow truck, Caltrans vehicle and waste service vehicle. Vehicles with hazardous loads. Dealing with traffic congestion. Aggressive drivers. Road rage. Driving in heavy rain. Slippery roads. Wet, icy and snow packed roads. High wind areas. Driving in fog. Driving in darkness. Flooded roads. Driving in hill country or curves. Traffic Break.
Test No. 15 : Steps before starting your vehicle, Green Driving, Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, Police Traffic Stops, skids on slippery roads, acceleration Skids, locked wheel skids, wet brake failure, stuck accelerator pedal, traffic collisions, DMV accident report, Safety tips if your vehicle breaks down on a highway,
Test No. 16: California Freeway Service Patrol (FSP), car breaks down on railroad tracks, vision and safe driving, hearing and safe driving, drowsy driving, factors affecting driving ability, medical conditions physicians must report, senior drivers 70 and older, drunk driving law, penalties for DUI, carrying alcohol in a vehicle, carrying cannabis in a vehicle, drivers under 21 years charged with possession of alcohol.
